Ottawa Sooners 2025 Housing Agreement

Reference copy for players and families. Final terms are confirmed in the signed agreement.

This Housing Agreement (the "Agreement") is entered into as of ________________ by and between the Ottawa Sooners Football Club (the "Club") and [Player Name] (the "Player").

1. Purpose of the Agreement

This Agreement establishes the terms and conditions under which the Player will receive housing accommodations during their participation in the 2025 season, in conjunction with a work-for-housing arrangement.

2. Housing Accommodations

The Club will provide housing to the Player that will include:

  • Shared living spaces (kitchen, living room, bathroom).
  • Basic utilities (water, electricity, heating, and internet).
  • Furnishings necessary for comfortable living (e.g., bed, table, chair).

Occupancy is valid from June 1st, 2025 to December 1st, 2025, aligning with the duration of the 2025 season and reasonable pre-season/post-season activities.

Due to differing dietary issues or constraints, food and meals will not be provided by the Club and remain the player's sole responsibility.

3. Rent and Payment Terms

  • Rent for housing is set at $600 per month.
  • Payments can be made bi-weekly or monthly, due on the 1st and/or 15th of each month.
  • Players who participate in the work-for-housing arrangement as outlined in Section 4 may offset or fully cover the cost of rent by completing assigned work hours.
  • Failure to meet payment obligations or work-hour commitments may result in disciplinary action, including termination of the housing agreement.

4. Work for Housing Arrangement

To offset housing costs, the Player agrees to participate in work assigned by the Club.

4.1 Duties and Responsibilities

The Player will complete a minimum of 8 hours of work weekly (typically not exceeding 20 hours) in areas such as:

  • Community outreach and youth football camps.
  • Facility maintenance and cleaning.
  • Game-day operations (e.g., setup, ticketing assistance).
  • Administrative support for Club events.
  • Business Operations: ATH SPORTS, Power Muscle Fitness

The exact schedule and assignments will be determined by the Club in consultation with the Player.

4.2 Supervision and Reporting

  • Work will be supervised by [Club Representative or Staff Member].
  • The Player will be required to track hours and tasks completed weekly and submit reports to the designated supervisor.

5. Player Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of their housing unit and common areas.
  • Respect housemates, neighbours, and Club property.
  • Promptly report maintenance issues or damages to the Club.
  • Comply with all Club rules, including curfews and codes of conduct.
  • Pay for damages caused by negligence or intentional misconduct.
  • Due to differing dietary issues or constraints, food and meals are the sole responsibility of the Player.

6. Club Responsibilities

  • Ensure housing meets safety and habitability standards.
  • Provide timely responses to maintenance requests.
  • Assign fair and reasonable work duties consistent with the Player's skills and availability.
  • Offer support for disputes or conflicts related to the housing arrangement.

7. House Rules

To ensure a safe and respectful living environment, the following house rules apply:

  • No Smoking: Smoking of any kind is strictly prohibited inside the housing facility, including common areas and individual rooms and garages if applicable.
  • Prohibition of Narcotics: The use, possession, or distribution of illegal drugs or narcotics is strictly prohibited.
  • Overnight Guests: Overnight guests are not allowed without prior written approval from the Club. This is to ensure the comfort and safety of all residents.
  • Noise Levels: Residents are expected to maintain reasonable noise levels to avoid disturbing housemates and neighbours, particularly during quiet hours from 23:00hrs to 07:00.
  • Conduct: All residents must treat each other with respect and avoid disruptive or inappropriate behaviour.

Violation of these rules may result in disciplinary action, including potential termination of housing privileges.

8. Termination of Housing

The Player's housing arrangement may be terminated under the following conditions:

  • Voluntary withdrawal from the Ottawa Sooners Football program.
  • Violation of Club rules, including failure to fulfill work obligations.
  • Damaging property or failure to maintain housing standards.
  • Mutual agreement between the Club and Player.

In such cases, the Player will vacate the housing within 5 days of notice.

9. Liability and Insurance

  • The Player is responsible for insuring their personal belongings. The Club is not liable for theft, damage, or loss of personal items.
  • The Player agrees to indemnify the Club for damages caused to housing or property by the Player's actions.

10. Miscellaneous

  • This Agreement is non-transferable.
  • Any disputes arising from this Agreement will be resolved through mediation facilitated by a neutral third party agreed upon by both parties.
  • This document constitutes the entire understanding between the parties regarding housing for the 2025 season.

By signing below, the parties acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined above.
