Coach Barr, a native of Kanata, played for the Ottawa Sooners in 1995 and 1996. He was an OFC Champion and represented eastern Canada in the Little Grey Cup in Regina in 1995, and in 1996 was an all-star at slotback (the first year the Sooners moved to the QJFL). He was a three-year starter at Bishops University (1998-2001) and after two short auditions trying the pro ranks in Canada, he took his skills to Europe where he played professionally in Denmark and Germany. He was MVP in the Danish National Final and led the league in receiving for two seasons as a tight-end. He also acted as assistant head coach and offensive coordinator for the U-19 program, winning the title in 2003. Curtis has also coached extensively in the national capital region at all levels (from Pee Wee to Midget) with the Kanata Knights, Nepean Redskins and South Gloucester Raiders as offensive coordinator and/or receivers coach. His coaching philosophy is to never take a play off, play for each other and play with class.
